About Us

The Coral-Reef Ecology Lab is a university affiliated nonprofit and a part of the Institute for Global Ecology. Our research covers a wide expanse of topics across local, regional, and global scales, including restoration and conservation, coral genetic diversity, mass bleaching events, and recovery of coral reefs following disturbances. The goal of this research is to uncover the patterns and processes that occur within and across coral reefs. Understanding how these patterns and processes may change as climate change progresses is a vital part of protecting and conserving coral reefs. Our lab utilizes large datasets, state of the art software, and powerful statistical modeling tools to better interpret and predict the patterns and processes on coral reefs across biological scales.
